Marina District San Francisco
This small backyard lacked privacy and the owners expressed not wanting to spend any time there. They wanted it to become another room in their house and dreamed of a outdoor retreat in which to relax with family and friends. We created a refined space with an arbor to provide screening from onlooking windows, a new stone patio in a warm shade of peachy-gold to brighten even the grayist of days, and stacked stone raised beds to add height to the flat space. These elements combined with a minmal color palette of green and white created a cohesive courtyard garden that is now the most used room in the house.
